The College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR) joins the University in celebrating the recognition accorded to its Dean, Dr. Rex Victor O. Cruz.

42 CFNR grads pass forestry licensure exam

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 42 out of 50 examinees from the College of Forestry and Natural Resources passed the forestry licensure examination given by the Board of Foresters on July 2&3 at the PRC Auditorium. The national passing rate is 37%.

ENFOR researchers win NAST 31st ASM best poster paper award

For. Dixon T. Gevana, Dr. Florencia B. Pulhin, Dr. Rodel D. Lasco, Fors. Michael Joseph SM. Pillas and Enrico M. Laluan, researchers at the Environmental Forestry Programme (ENFOR), CFNR, won the best poster paper presentation award during the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) 31^st Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) on July 8-9 at the Manila Hotel.

CFNR, CFNRAA prepare for centenary in 2010

CFNR and the CFNR Alumni Association (CFNRAA) held a joint workshop on July 28 at TREES to fine tune preparations for the CFNR Centennial Celebration in 2010. A year-long calendar of activities has been lined-up for the celebration with the theme “Syento Porsyentong Kasiyahang CFNR, 100 Years Na at Patuloy Pang Maglilingkod sa Bayan at Kalikasan.”

Dir. Calimag reappointed as TREES Director

For. Corazon A. Calimag has been reappointed as Director of TREES effective March 2009 up to January 2012. She served as TREES Director from her first appointment since February 2006.

MCME holds 5th Youth Summer Program for MFR Conservation and Development

The Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Makati-Legazpi and Los Baños Makiling (RCML & RCLB-M) conducted the 5^th Youth Summer Program for Makiling Forest Reserve Conservation and Development. The theme is “Youth Mobilization for Sustainable Ecosystems”. The youth summer program was designed to promote forest conservation, public awareness, appreciation and knowledge on the importance and value of forests, plants, and environment.
